WBHO grows SA roads orders 26%

LISTED constructi­on and engineerin­g group WBHO reported yesterday that it had grown its South African roads and earthworks order book by 26 percent from June to September, with a further R1.2 billion secured by this cluster after September. The group revealed at the Macquarie CEO Conference that its total roads and earthworks order book increased by 28 percent to R3.88bn in September from R3.04bn in June. It said the South African order book for this cluster increased to R3.2bn from R2.5bn while the roads and earthworks order book for Africa increased 36 percent to R664 million from R487m in June. However, the group’s consolidat­ed order book declined by 11.5 percent to R37.8bn in September from R42.7bn in June. The total order book for the building and civil engineerin­g cluster dropped by 22 percent to R673bn in September from R8.68bn in June. – Roy Cokayne
