BRAVING THE OCEAN
Overall winner Paul van Achterbergh competes at the ADreach Ocean Heroes series at North Beach, Durban, at the weekend. The Durbanite braved windy conditions for the 1.6km ocean swim, followed by two ocean man races, which comprised surf ski paddling, board paddling, and running.
Contestants came from across the country to compete in a battle of endurance, speed and skill. Van Achterbergh was followed by Durbanite Matthew Bouman and Donald Brierley in the overall Ocean Heroes men’s category. Samantha Rowe came top among the women.
