Sad to see cricket writer and editor go

I ALSO join those who are sad at the departure of Patrick Compton from the cricket and film review sections of The Mercury.

His replacement will have to set high standards to fill his shoes. In the 40-odd years I have been subscribing to The Mercury, he was certainly one of the best.

Surprisingly, there seems to have been little comment on the departure of Fikile-Ntsikelelo Moya, who was an erudite, knowledgeable editor with insight into human and political issues; a balanced commentator. IB GIBSON
