Two women arrested with cocaine

-

CUSTOMS officials confiscated 13kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of R3.6 million in two incidents at OR Tambo International Airport this week.

The SA Revenue Service said the drugs were found after officials stopped passengers from incoming flights from South America.

The luggage of two passengers was identified for scrutiny.

“In the first incident, 1.7kg of cocaine was found in hidden compartments inside three new handbags in the luggage of a female traveller, after a narcotics detective dog reacted positively.

“In the second, an official opened a tin of fruit in the woman’s luggage that tested positive for cocaine.”

The two women were handed over to the police. – ANA
