The world watches as Syria wars on

-

THE once prosperous and populous Syrian city of Aleppo is being slowly reduced to a ghost town as the violence escalates between the Syrian army and rebels.

We have heard some warning messages from Russia and China. But none of them is serious in saving Syrian infrastructure from the US attack. If they were so serious, they would have called for a United Nations session and moved a resolution against any action from the US.

But it seems the whole world is waiting to watch America implement its vested agenda, in the same manner it did in Afghanistan. No evidence was presented to prove that Osama bin Laden was behind 9/11 attacks on the US before invading Afghanistan. Iraq was also attacked without any reason.

Similarly, there is a great like and dislike when it comes to democratic trends in the Middle East.

Unless the international community sink their differences, put politics aside, get together in the larger interest of the Syrian people and bring the warring parties across the table, many more innocent lives will be sacrificed. RUGEN PILLAY
