The Mercury

Skin as thick as a rhino, giggling at us

-

IT HAS been said often enough that our Constitution was formulated with ethical leaders in mind, such as Mandela.

Men (or women) who had a high degree of ethics and who would run their lives in sync with the oath of office. Clearly Jacob Zuma is not made of that fibre as he has amply shown.Your editorial, on May 10 seems to indicate that you are getting some sort of pressure from other quarters – probably your boss.

Please tell your readers what other recourse we citizens have against a man who seems to have a skin as thick as a rhino and is derisive of public opinion. In fact he just giggles at us!

It is all very well to say that his administration will pay the price but the damage to the country will be too far gone for it to recover.

I have to say that the mantle of Independent Newspapers is definitely not applying to the Mercury any more. TONY BALL Pinetown
