The draw’s back in vogue, thanks to Romain

REFEREES and their council are ruining the mighty oval ball game, I tell you. The Lions tour was a bit of a wet blanket in the end with some poor decision making. Moving on, Romain. Britain is the centre of all the madness this weekend, bangani bami, the races at Silverstone, and across the way the Scottish Open at Dundonald Links.

It’s a nice field so look at the likes of local boy Gallagher and perhaps Fisher. Otherwise a resurgence from Poulter (Ryder Cup 2018 in Paris is not far off) or Lingmerth and Fowler, who are on form.

Great British hopes at SW19 are a thing of the past after a limp and lurch and the real contenders are noted.

In the ladies draw, meisies en dames, Muguruza is the slight favourite at 8/10 over Venus Williams at evens 1/1.

Muguruza has defeated better players on the run-in. The Bones calls on her to take it in three sets over a hard-hitting Venus.

It’s Roger to reign in the the men’s amid the chaos and it will be well deserved indeed.

It’s the second Test for a limping Proteas team at Trent Bridge and there isn’t much more hope in this encounter, making Bones’ sentiments of a whitewash closer to reality.

Faf is back from paternity leave, but Kagiso is out due to too much banter. Hope for a draw at best, but I see a repeat of over before time like Lord’s.

Super Rugby is back in full cry this weekend, with a full bouquet beginning this morning.

Highlanders are odds on with a chunky cheesy cap of 22 points vs Reds. Expect the class to come through.

Rebels’ at 17/10 vs Jaguares 9/20 with the tie at 22/1 ... if it’s a French ref you never know.

Kings 13/20 vs Cheetahs 5/4, with 22/1 the draw price – fancy that one Romain Poite? Okay, I’m done.

Sunwolves 16/1 vs Blues 1/100 with a 29 point handicap, which is a Wutang, but take it and hope for a try fest and a Ihah n Sunny show.

Chiefs 1/14 vs Brumbies at 6/1, the spread of 18 points shows just how far apart these teams are, lending question to the future of this competition.

Hurricanes are 7/10 favourites vs Crusaders 13/10 is the absolute peach for the week. Lions and SA need a Canes win so let’s hope the “lions” in them comes out.

Force are 1/1 vs Waratahs 9/10 off the shoulder with no spread offered. Tahs to pip, but I’m out on this.

Bulls’ 13/10 vs Stormers at 6/10, go blue with white and take away to take it tight.

Sharks 5/2 vs Lions 2/7 for the big clash to finish off the weekend, and also to determine who’s in it for a long time or a good time.

It may go a long way in Lions lifting the trophy with the finals at home.

Look at a Bottas or Vettel upset of Hammy boy at Silverstone.

Clermont’s clairvoyant out.
