180 Twelve inhabitant­s of Scillium (in modern-day Tunisia) are executed for being Christians – the earliest record of Christiani­ty in that part of the world. 1453 End of the 100 Years War between England and France (it actually lasted 116 years). 1674 The bones of two boys, presumed to be the lost successors to the throne of Edward IV, are found in the Tower of London. 1836 The Doncaster is wrecked west of Cape Agulhas. All 298 people on board are killed.
