Ngebiyana wins two vacant SA boxing titles

-

SABELO NGEBIYANA won the vacant South African and Legends Boxing Foundation junior-bantamweight titles with a sixth round knockout over Sikho Nqothole at the Orient Theatre, in East London, on Sunday afternoon.

The Legends Boxing Foundation title is another addition to the multitude of boxing titles around the world today.

This was a rematch with Ngebinyana 11-3; 9 winning against Nqothole 11-2; 7 on a unanimous points decision to claim the WBA Pan African junior-bantamweight title on 2 November 2018.

However, the return was a poor fight with Nqothole spending most of the rounds backing off.

Nqothole continued complaining to the referee and even after being knocked down by a shot to the head, he indicated that he was hit behind the head.

However, referee Lulama Mtya let the fight continue without a count.

In what had become a farce in the sixth round Nqothole sat down without being hit, and was counted out by Mtya. |
