When will the prosecutions start?

-

IT’S BEEN stated in the media that more than R100 million has been spent so far on the Zondo commission.

With no signs that the Zondo commission will be over soon, one could easily assume that more than another R100m will be spent. While this commission has certainly opened up a can of worms, so to speak, the big question that is sitting on almost everybody’s lips is when are the prosecutions going to start?

With our country on the verge of bankruptcy and running out of money, there needs to be some return to the taxpayer on the monies invested so far in the Zondo commission by seeing those involved taken to court and jailed now and not in 10 years’ time!

It just seems that having all these commissions is great, at a huge cost, but then it all falls down and fizzles out, because our justice system does not have the guts to prosecute. This in turn makes a mockery of our judiciary in the eyes of the rest of the world.

No wonder the rating agencies look down on SA as a basket case.
