SPRING BACK TO LIFE
KZN Philharmonic Orchestra viola player Annamaria D’Andrea gets in touch with her ‘Day of the Dead’ alter ego ahead of this Thursday’s 2019 Early Spring Season concert in the Durban City Hall during which Saint-Saëns’s unforgettable La Danse
Macabre will be performed – an allegory on the universality of death. The evening’s soloist is 21-year-old Russian virtuoso Daniel Kharitonov playing Frantz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No 1. Brahms’s deeply rewarding Symphony No 2 brings the evening to a rousing close – all under the baton of guest conductor Bernhard Gueller. The 2019 Early Spring Season runs each Thursday until September 12 in the Durban City Hall starting at 7.30pm. Booking at Computicket.
