Tributes pour in for sports reporter
TRIBUTES have continued to pour in for journalist David Kekana, who died at the weekend at age 47.
Kekana, a former SABC sports analyst and veteran journalist, died after a long battle with diabetes. He was admitted at Milpark Hospital, Johannesburg, last week.
Kekana leaves his mother, father, a sister and two daughters.
“It’s been a very difficult time for the family and we wish to thank the medical team that attended to him for their medical interventions and support during David’s stay in hospital,” said family spokesperson Andile Ncube.
Kekana began his career as a reporter for the Sunday Times in 1999.
He went on to work for Prime Media and M-Net as a sports correspondent. He rose to fame as a sports analyst for SABC in 2001.
