It takes courage and integrity to be a man, my son

YOU’LL be a man my son…

When you can negotiate without compromising your integrity. When you can love without suffocating or controlling. When you can be generous yet treasure all you own. When you can stand on your own two feet without pushing others over.

When you understand your uniqueness, resilience, giftedness, and your failings and frailties. When you can welcome strangers yet foster independence. When you can learn to trust those who may not deserve it. When you can forgive before it is asked of you and even if it is not.

When you do all you can to empower others and desire their highest good when they can do nothing for you in return.
