Search widens for missing student
POLICE have appealed to the public to help find UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana, 19, who has been missing since the weekend.
The first-year film and media student was last seen on Saturday afternoon, said police spokesperson FC van Wyk.
UCT spokesperson Elijah Moholola said they were made aware of Mrwetyana’s disappearance and were working with police to help find her.
“UCT’s Campus Protection Services (CPS) is working with the SAPS and other relevant authorities to ensure that the missing student is found. The CPS has also put in place its own measures to trace Mrwetyana.
“UCT is in contact with her family and are keeping them in our thoughts during this period,” said Moholola.
The missing students is described to be of average build, 1.7m tall with black hair and has a birthmark on her neck.
