China’s rapid progress an example to SA
IT’S 25 years since the new political dispensation in our country, but people are still looking for the road to success.
Every day the poverty graph rises and hunger and unemployment tell us the story of our country.
The promises to the people of a better life for all immediately after the ANC government rose to power are forgotten.
Time marches on and new technology has brought change to the lives of people the world over. Attitudes and behaviours have changed.
But one country has set a good example for us and other backward and poor countries.
No one can ignore Chinese products and their importance in the market.
Made-in-China products have flooded every shopping mall and the little stores in the townships.
The world’s most populous country has progressed, and tremendously.
The main secrets of their continued success are hard work and motivation.
The Chinese government provides better facilities and protection to smallscale industry, and this is the main reason they are successful in providing cheap products that cater to the needs and requirements of middle-end and low-end people.
Encouragement to smallscale industry also helps reduce employment.
The rates of corruption, uncertainty and unemployment are low in China compared with South Africa.
In spite of pressure from proAmerican countries that always criticise Chinese human rights conditions and its legal system, China responds through her progress in every sector.
South Africa and third-world countries must learn from China’s success.
To raise the standard of living of South Africans, and achieve success, we must change our political attitudes and approach.
