Hone your managerial skills and critical thinking at UKZN’S Graduate School of Business and Leadership
TODAY’S leaders and managers are operating in challenging environments that demand innovative critical thinkers. The Graduate School of Business and Leadership (GSB&L) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) offers postgraduate programmes that are designed to develop individuals in leadership and management positions by sharpening their skills to meet global business challenges and imperatives.
POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMAS OFFERED:
LEADERSHIP
A Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership Studies offered by the GSB&L is ideally suited for working professionals in organisational leadership positions who are required to work in the dynamic and complex environment of contemporary Africa and its transition agenda. The programme is offered over a two-year period on a part-time, block release method. Students are required to attend a full week (8am to 5pm) per module. The programme can also be offered over one year full-time.
This programme also serves as a bridging programme to the Master of Commerce in Leadership Studies and related management fields.
LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The GSB&L’s Postgraduate Diploma in Local Economic Development is aimed at promoting regional and local economic development (RLED) learning, building critical thinking and capacity for RLED. The programme is offered over a two-year period on a block release method. Students are required to attend lectures from Monday to Friday (8am to 4pm). Four modules are to be completed in each year.
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
Finally, the GSB&L also offers a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration. The programme aims to equip candidates with a broad-based theoretical and practical knowledge as well as skills in the field of management. It is offered in part-time mode only, over one year. Students can register for either evening or block release classes. This programme also serves as a bridging programme to the Master of Business Administration (MBA).
