Principled judiciary deserves our respect

- MICHAEL BAGRAIM | Highlands Estate

THE article in your Monday edition (Cape Times, May 10), “Mandela respected the courts, warts and all” refers. Well done once again to your columnist, Michael Donen. Our legal system in South Africa has done the country proud. When everything else was collapsing and the government was raping the fiscus our judges have stood firm and were able to “speak truth to power”.

Our Constitutional Court has held firm throughout the past 15 years of state capture and we can all be proud of at least one arm of government – and that is the judiciary. Well done to Michael Donen on bringing this message loudly and clearly to the public.
