Mark Pilgrim shares inspiring message with cancer warriors

-

TAKING to Twitter this week, local radio personality Mark Pilgrim shared an inspiring message for other cancer survivors.

After being in remission for 33 years, Pilgrim announced earlier this year that his cancer had returned.

Diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer in 1988, it spread to his lungs and kidneys. The Hot 102.7 presenter has made no bones about his daily struggles, sharing his treatment progress on social media.

Taking to Twitter this week, Pilgrim revealed that others who are going through the same experience often asked how he remained positive when all they wanted to do was cry.

Pilgrim admitted that he, sometimes cried.

“Strength is not ignoring your vulnerability. Strength is having the ability to allow the moment … and when it passes, you wipe away the tears and you stand up,” he wrote.

Pilgrim received an outpouring of support. One online user wrote: “Needed this message today, at the point of giving up, but now I will get up and show up … strength to you.”

“Thank you so much for those words of inspiration … I need it in my life as once again hard times have hit and hit hard as well,” wrote another.
