The logistics of using containers for homes
JENNY Durant suggests that secondhand containers be converted to economic dwellings (The Mercury, April 25).
Some years ago, I purchased a small 3m by 3m as an outside storage unit and it required a substantial truck equipped with a crane to get it to my premises.
It will be well nigh impossible to reach remote areas in hilly terrain, so the idea could be implemented in flat, accessible places only.
Construction companies often use containers as office accommodation, but they obviously require a degree of modification to fit windows, which comes at a cost.
