Disturbing the lunch of the bacteria

AMERICAN firefighters found themselves on a highly unusual mission when they had to rescue a woman from a toilet. No, she hadn’t locked herself in the toilet, she had fallen into it.

This was a non-flush pit toilet near a car park at the summit of Mount Walker in the Olympic National Forest, north-west of Seattle, in Washington State, according to Sky News. In such a toilet, the bacteria do the work in their own time, as with the kleinhuisies of the rural areas in this country.

This lady accidentally dropped her cellphone down the loo. She tied together some dog leads to try to fish it out. This didn’t work so she attached the dog leads to herself and the loo and climbed down into the pit.

Snap! The dog leads parted. Plop! The bacteria found their lunch being rudely disturbed. She had gone in head first.

But she had reunited herself with her cellphone. She dialled the emergency services and explained her predicament.

Firefighters arrived. They passed her blocks to stand on and reach a harness with which they pulled the fragrant lady out for a thorough washdown. She was not injured.

Fire chief Tim Manly said: “I’ve been in the service 40 years, and this was definitely a first.”

The lady’s name has not been revealed. We will have to wait for her memoirs.

Happy pair

A PICTURE comes this way of a gorgeous girl on a beach with what appears to be a pet kangaroo.

Caption: “They’re cute and seem harmless.

“But they’re incredibly expensive to keep and absolutely untrainable.

“The other is a kangaroo. “I don’t really know much about kangaroos.”

Tailpiece

SHE sends her husband a romantic text message:

“If you are sleeping, send me your dreams. If you are laughing, send me your smile. If you are eating, send me a bite. If you are drinking, send me a sip. If you are crying, send me your tears. I love you.”

He texts back: “I’m in the toilet, please advise.”

Last word

I LOVE being married. It’s so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.
