ARTS and crafts by KwaZulu-Natal artists are being highlighted in a project, The heART of Shopping, to be held in Durban North on Thursday and Friday.

The open-day event, at 141 Kensington Drive, will feature varied pieces of jewellery by yarn artist Clemence Kitching, metal art by Clint McLean, ceramic and painted pieces by Angelika Anastasis as well as children’s clothes, linen, mosaics, cosmetics, getaway bags and more.

Also to be featured are the beaded jewellery designs of local singer-actress Shelley McLean.

“Ten percent of all sales will go towards an initiative to assist a squatter to buy his own house. So, drop the kids at school and join friends for a cup of tea and a slice of carrot cake while you browse and uncover many shopping delights,” says a spokesman,
