Iran won’t discuss oil production quotas
VIENNA: Iranian oil minister Bijan Zangeneh expressed hope yesterday that the country’s decision to depart from the deal reached by Opec and non-cartel states on oil production cuts would be met with understanding from the other signatories.
He says Tehran is not going to discuss oil production quotas with Opec while it is being subjected to Washington’s sanctions.
“We expect them to co-operate with us. This is a minimum co-operation. But if they don’t do it, we will not accept anything else,” Zangeneh said.
