Saudi heroine
IN A world where gender equality is still an embattled concept, Rahaf Mohammed Al-qunun, the 18-yearold Saudi Arabian teenager who fled her homeland and sought asylum in Canada, is a heroine.
Her story epitomises without doubt that where there is a will, therewill always be a way.
I am convinced that Rahaf’s act mirrors that of Malala Yousufzai, the Pakistani schoolgirl who was shot at point blank range by the Taliban, when she advocated that education is the prerogative of everyone.
These two young women gives the world hope.
I salute you, Rahaf Mohammed Al-qunun!
