Israel behind attack on Syria, says PM
TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed yesterday that his country was behind the weekend airstrikes at targets near Syria’s Damascus airport.
On Saturday, a warehouse outside the international airport was hit in a missile attack.
“In the last 36 hours alone, the Israeli Air Force struck Iranian arms caches at the Damascus international airport,” said Netanyahu.
He promised to continue attacking suspected Iranian targets in Syria to stop the Islamic Republic from entrenching in the country, where it supports the government of President Bashar Assad.
