Hatchery Vaccination is now Quality Approved
Ceva South Africa’s C.H.I.C.K Program has been awarded the first quality code of practice recognition from Bureau Veritas.
This internationally-recognised quality stamp of approval guarantees the following to poultry producers and their customers: Ceva’s dedicated teams are qualified to monitor the quality of in ovo and day-old chick vaccination. Ceva will deliver continuous training in vaccine storage and handling, preparation, administration quality, equipment maintenance and the monitoring of results. Ceva is committed to regular hatchery visits and reporting to hatchery managers using innovative data management tools, following up on corrective actions and contributing to the continuous improvement of results. Equipment is installed in line with a preventive maintenance program. The Ceva Vaccination Services & Equipment team is composed by 11 hatchery specialists, led by Chris van Biljon. As part of their service program in South Africa and neighboring countries, they visit more than 60 hatcheries belonging to poultry-producing customers per year. During 2016, 180 audits were performed to help set up corrective actions and improvement plans. The advanced data management systems allow the team to follow the overall hatchery vaccination efficiency and evolution. To date there are more than 500 vaccination equipment units operating in Southern African countries.
