Thomas River bike ride tomorrow

CATHCART - Congratula­tions to Stuart and Lindi Dewing on the birth of their first born, a son, Carter, also a grandson for Sally Brandt; to Alec and Roxanne Scheepers from the Wagon Wheel on the birth of their daughter Danika, a first grandchild for Johan and Margie Scheepers; to Greg and Nicole Shone on the birth of their son, Matthew, first grandchild for Allan and Jenny Shone and great grandchild for Ron and Cynthia Trollip and to Clairwin Strydom and Gerrit Marais a daughter Alexis Bella, another grandchild for Piet and Karen Strydom.

JACO , Nadine and Emmi Rossouw returned this week from Cape Town where cancer sufferer Emmi had a check up at Red Cross Children’s Hospital. The good news is that the tumours on the skull and chest have not grown but Emmi will need to continue with chemo treatment for a further six months and return to Cape Town in April.

THE Thomas River bike ride takes place tomorrow at Thomas River with the usual races including a scooter dash and trail run. Round Table have organised a motor bike ride as well to start at noon. Entries to John Potter for the bike race and Johan Rossouw for the motorbike ride.

The Round Table fun bowls day was played in hot conditions last Sunday and was won by the Currie Bunnies team of David and Robin Currie and Glenn and Linda Cotterrell. Second was a Round Table team.

On Sunday the Border junior golf foundation players will hold a golf day locally. Entries to Bernard Cotterrell.
