Mayor encourages class of 2015

-

LUKHANJI executive mayor Nozi Makanda has wished the 2015 matriculants well in the exams.

“During the year you have witnessed both positive and negative developments in our country and beyond and I wish to impress upon you that the current challenges facing our social, economic, political and environmental de- velopment and management require you to be empowered.”

Such empowerment, Makanda said, was necessary for creativity and innovation for the benefit of the next generation.

“I urge you to enter examination rooms with confidence and perform to the best of your ability. Your humble beginnings should not impede your dreams.”

Success was not easily found, but had to be earned, sometimes painfully so.

“As you contemplate your path after Grade 12, also remember that you are the only one who can define what success means to you,” she said, calling on this year’s matric class to “make us proud.”
