Clean administration award for CHDA
THE Chris Hani Development Agency (CHDA), which is based in Komani, has received a Clean Administration Award in recognition of its clean audit report for the 2015-16 financial year.
The CHDA was awarded by the Chartered Institute of Government Finance Audit and Risk Officers (CIGFARO) at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on October 9.
Agency CEO Thukela Mashologu said, “I attribute this achievement to team work and commitment to clean governance by the agency.”
CIGFARO awards all municipalities who have performed well in the previous year’s audit, focusing on three categories: Municipalities that have, for the first time, improved their audit from a qualified to an unqualified audit opinion (unqualified audit opinion with findings); municipalities which have achieved a clean audit opinion (unqualified audit opinion with no findings) and municipalities that have maintained their clean audit status.
The award is the second to be received by CHDA, with the agency receiving an award as the most improved municipal entity for the 2014-15 financial year, in terms of the municipal audit outcomes for moving from a qualified audit opinion to unqualified audit opinion, last year.
The award was received by the Chris Hani District Municipality portfolio head of finance Nozibele Makhanda and Mashologu.
