TARKAS­TAD – The an­nual rose show took place on Satur­day at the Tarka Sports Club. Ash­ley Wormald, from Ko­mani, was the judge and gave an in­ter­est­ing talk on roses. A com­pe­ti­tion was held be­tween the 12 ta­bles dec­o­rated for the guests, of which Ali­son Budler was the win­ner. Denise Raw won the cham­pion rose, Mim­sie van Heer­den had the most points and Cor­nette van Heer­den the most en­tries. A to­tal of 316 rose en­tries were re­ceived.

RE­CENTLY , a group of women from the Tarkas­tad Women’s Agri­cul­tural As­so­ci­a­tion vis­ited Ronell Hersel­man on her farm for an af­ter­noon of health dis­cus­sions and fun.

NEWLY qual­i­fied Mind Moves in­struc­tor Tr­ish King in­tro­duced the won­der of Mind Moves. Mind Moves is a proven sys­tem for find­ing the cause of learn­ing prob­lems and elim­i­nat­ing them by means of spe­cific, sim­ple-to-use ex­er­cises, while strength­en­ing pupils’ learn­ing abil­i­ties. This sys­tem was de­vel­oped by Dr Melodie de Jager. Tr­ish has her own prac­tice in Tarkas­tad and will specif­i­cally tar­get scholas­tic prob­lems at this stage.

SIS­TER Su­sanne Bekker, of the Tarkas­tad clinic, spoke about the changes in the clinic and the avail­abil­ity of med­i­ca­tion. Ev­ery­one’s blood pres­sure was taken and a clip on the warn­ing signs of strokes was watched.

Ev­ery ef­fort is be­ing made to pro­mote tent­peg­ging in­ter­na­tion­ally and for the sport to be­come part of the Olympics.
