Ko­mani pi­lot killed in crash

Well-known Ko­mani busi­ness­man and pi­lot Pierre Scheep­ers died on Sun­day fol­low­ing a plane crash in the dis­trict.

Scheep­ers, 55, was the owner of Kei Bod­ies in the town.

He was tak­ing a rel­a­tive for a flight early on Sun­day when the plane crashed, ap­par­ently dur­ing take-off.

The rel­a­tive was taken to an East Lon­don hospi­tal in a crit­i­cal con­di­tion, po­lice spokes­woman Cap­tain Namhla Mdle­leni con­firmed.

Trib­ute was paid to Scheep­ers in a memo­rial ser­vice yes­ter­day. He leaves his wife, Lin, and two daugh­ters, Kirsten and Jenna, from an ear­lier mar­riage. – Rep re­porter
