The Rep editor resigns
The editor of The Rep, Sonja Raasch, has resigned and will be leaving the newspaper at the end of November.
Raasch matriculated at Stutterheim High School and obtained a BA degree in languages at the then University of Port Elizabeth.
She began work as a reporter for The Rep in 1993 and in 1995 transferred to the Daily Dispatch’s Queenstown bureau.
Appointed editor of The Rep in 2003, she was promoted to group editor of Tiso Blackstar community newspapers, responsible for The Rep, the Go! and Express in East London and Talk of the Town in Port Alfred in 2015.
She has joined the staff of the English department at Queen’s College and will assume duties when schools open at the beginning of 2019.
She is married to a local businessman Brendan Raasch, and they have three children.
