Police probe Komani murder

Police are investigating a case of murder after a 20-year-old Komani man was stabbed to death in the town on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Captain Namhla Mdleleni said the man was visiting his girlfriend at her home when he went outside at midnight.

When he did not return, she went outside and found his body with several stab wounds. No arrests have been made. A 15-year-old Ezibeleni girl was attacked and raped on Friday, Mdleleni said.

She said the girl had been left alone while her mother went out. When the mother returned, the child was missing. She later came home and said she had been raped. No arrests have been made.

In Ilinge, police are searching for a man who allegedly raped a 24-year-old woman over the weekend.

Mdleleni said the woman was walking home from a tavern when she was attacked and raped on Friday night.

Mdleleni said an appeal was being made to people to be careful when visiting places where alcohol was being sold and consumed.

“People must not walk home alone at night time as they may become victims of crime.”
