STUTTERHEIM
– Round Table 103 recently hosted the seventh annual DPL six-a-side cricket day, in conjunction with the potjiekos competition. This project was started in memory of a Tabler, Dean Pedro, and is still a day when local people celebrate his life.
Eight teams competed, with the Newden Dragons claiming the top spot, the Rance Timber Lumberjacks were runners-up, the Robcaw Rebels in third place and thereafter, in order, Bolo Barflies, Eck Baulers, Team Noddy, PnP and The Pole Slingers (Stutt Poles).
Round Table has thanked businesses that were prepared to enter a team and helped to make the day possible.
The potjiekos competition was also a great success, with awesome prizes sponsored by Lentz Properties, Optimum Security and Tyndall Meats. In third place was Team Noddy and defending champions Rance Timber Lumberjacks had to give up the title and settle for second place.
The Pole Slingers were crowned DPL Potjiekos Champs 2018, with a nearly perfect score from the judges.
Other sponsors included Clinton and Tyrone Schwartz, Big Daddy’s Liquor, PnP, Rance Timber, CJ Scholes & Son, Stutterheim Country Club and Electrical Worx.
