Two killed at traditional ceremonies, three held for murder at Mgwalana
Police are investigating two cases of murder after a 40-year-old man was allegedly beaten up at a traditional ceremony, and another fatally stabbed, in two separate incidents.
Police spokeswoman Captain Namhla Mdleleni said the victim sustained injuries which resulted in him being rushed to hospital, where he later died.
Mdleleni said no arrests had been made so far.
And in the other incident, a 25-year-old Whittlesea man was fatally stabbed at a traditional ceremony. Although a case of murder was opened, the suspects were still at large as no arrests had been made and police were investigating both cases.
“In Cacadu, police arrested three suspects who will face charges of murder. It is alleged that a 27-year-old man was found near the dongas at Mgwalana locality. His body had sustained injuries. A case of murder was opened, three suspects were arrested and will appear before the Lady Frere Magistrate’s Court soon,” Mdleleni said.
Mdleleni pleaded with people to take care when enjoying themselves at traditional ceremonies and also asked them to avoid walking alone in the dark.
