Response officers collar criminals

-

Red Guard response officers responded to a panic alarm from a house in Ezibeleni on Old Year’s Eve, operations manager Willie Reinecke told The Rep.

They apprehended the family’s son who was under the influence of alcohol, causing problems and damaging property. He was handed over to the police.

The same evening a resident in Top Town reported a break-in and response officers were dispatched. They recovered some stolen items at the Rec, including a handbag from which the cash had been removed. The recovered items recovered were handed back to the lawful owner.

On the afternoon of New Year’s Day the security officers at Chris Hani finance offices called for assistance. Response officers were dispatched and apprehended a suspect who had attempted to break in at the premises. The suspect was released after the office manager declined to open a criminal case.

On Wednesday morning response officers attended to a panic alarm at a cash store, where they apprehended a suspect for theft. The suspect was released after the owner declined to open a criminal case because the response officers retrieved the stolen item and returned it to the store owner.

In the early hours of Saturday response officers attended to a call by the security officer posted at a building concern where a suspect had stolen several poles on site. The officers were unable to apprehend the suspect who ran away, but recovered all the stolen poles.
