Several bags of dagga found

Last Tuesday morning Red Guard response officers in Lady Frere attended to a panic alarm activation at a business in the Main Street, operations manager Willie Reinecke told The Rep.

They chased after a suspect who had grabbed a carpet on display and run away. They managed to apprehend the suspect and recover the stolen carpet. The suspect was handed over to the police.

The security officer on duty on Wednesday afternoon at a business in Komani Street called The Red Guard 24-hour control room for assistance. Response officers were dispatched to the premises and, as a result of the alertness of the guard, several bags of dagga were found on a trailer. The driver of the vehicle towing the trailer ran away, but the matter was handed over to the police.

During the early hours of Friday response officers were alerted about suspects on the roof of a business in Bells Road. The officers investigat­ed and managed to apprehend two suspects inside the business. A large quantity of stolen goods were also recovered. The suspects were handed over to the police.

On Sunday the owner of a business in Mlungisi phoned the company s 24-hour control room

’ and reported suspicious-looking people outside his business. Response officers were dispatched and apprehende­d three suspects who were attempting to break in. They were handed over to police.
