The Rep

What do you think about

On Monday, the country officially entered level 3 of the national lockdown. Following the rise in the infection and death rates, The Rep reporter, Ntsikelelo Qoyo, went to ask people in Komani if they thought the country was ready for the relaxed restrictions.

Nandiswa Phatwa from Mlungisi

Personally I am ready for level 3. I was not working and today (Monday) I am back at work. I was struggling at home because I am the breadwinner. I just have to do what I can, practice social distancing and wash my hands.

June Webber from East London

I think we are ready. Regardless of the rising numbers I think the virus can be managed. I think the decision to open schools was a good one, but I still think the little ones should remain home.

Thando Matamo from Laurie Dashwood Park

I think we are ready and not ready at the same time. The numbers are going up, but I think preparedness is up to the person. We have all the information we need to keep ourselves safe. We just have to be vigilant.

Charles Durant from Westbourne

Yes, we are ready for level 3. Personally I cannot do anything about the rising numbers, but we cannot be locked up in our houses forever. People need to do what they have to do to protect themselves.

Mthombela Hoyi from Mlungisi

We are ready. We cannot be in lockdown forever. There will be challenges, but we will have to deal with them as they come.
