Queenstown born and raised Sally Ann Hodson (neé Greig) was discharged from hospital in her home town, Wakefield, near Leeds in Yorkshire UK at the weekend after nine weeks of being seriously ill with Covid-19, several of which she was in an induced coma and on a ventilator in the intensive care unit. Although a year of recuperation with physiotherapy is predicted for her and she is still very weak, she is cheerful and positive and looking forward to the birth of another grandchild in November.
Well-known former Queenstown businessman Cliff Barber, who was the owner of Guards Jewellers for many years, died suddenly in East London last week at the age of 84. Condolences to his family and to the families and friends of Brian Steenberg, William Saphukele, Zolile Thamba, Nodakholwe Nelani-Mazwayi, Nkebengeshe Msindwana, Nowezile Makasi and Yosa Dyusha.
