Alert response officers prevent loss of stock

On Tuesday morning a Sandringha­m resident who is not a Red Guard client called the company s 24

’ hour control room for assistance after being robbed by an armed suspect inside his home, operations manager Willie Reinecke told The Rep.

Response officers were dispatched to the home and obtained a descriptio­n of the suspect who could not be found in spite of several patrols in the area.

During the early hours of Wednesday morning response officers on patrol in Cofimvaba noticed that the front door of a business in the main street was standing open. The alarm company of the business was contacted who, in turn, contacted the manager. They assisted the manager with transport and he confirmed that there had been a break-in. The alertness of the response officers prevented the suspects from getting away with stock.

’ control room received a phone call from a resident who reported that someone had noticed a suspect in her yard in Sandringha­m.

A response officer was dispatched and apprehende­d a suspect in the yard stealing scrap metal.

The suspect wa released after the home owner declined to open a criminal case.

Response officers responded to a panic alarm on Thursday evening from a house in Ezibeleni. They assisted a woman whose son was violent and assaulting his sister.

They remained on site until the police arrived and the matter was handed over to them.

On Friday response officers attended to an alarm at a business in town where they apprehende­d two suspects who were breaking in.

They recovered a stolen pump, but the suspects were released after the business owner declined to open a criminal case.

On Saturday morning response officers attended to a panic alarm activation at a retirement village in Queenstown.

They apprehende­d a suspect who had entered the premises and stolen a cell phone.

The suspect was released after the owner declined to open a criminal case.
