New look at world of finance, business
Introducing weekly columns discussing important socioeconomic issues and exploring how to find solutions
❝
What I can do is share my own experiences as an entrepreneur as well as mistakes I made
Iwill write weekly columns for the next few months that address topics I am passionate about.
These topics will, each month, be based on the following themes:
Week 1: Basic Financial Literacy. I have chosen this topic because of the basic knowledge I gained while working at Absa.
Week 2: Issues experienced by entrepreneurs, SMME/business owners. This is based on my 10 years’ experience running my own business.
Week 3: Topics on PRrelated issues. Here I would like to share my experiences as a PR professional for the past 21 years.
Week 4: Socio-economic issues affecting ordinary South Africans. I will try and help in any way I can to tackle issues that affect our communities. These will range from education and poverty alleviation to youth-related issues.
I will not claim to be an expert in all these topics, especially financial, entrepreneurial and socioeconomic issues.
However, what I can do is share my own experiences as an entrepreneur as well as mistakes I made in business or those I made with money over the years, with the hope that readers can learn from my mistakes and try to avoid them.
On socio-economic issues, I will highlight the plight of ordinary South Africans in previously disadvantaged communities, but also focus on finding solutions or directing those affected to places where they can receive help. I will keep the language of the columns very basic; so that anyone who reads them can understand.
I hope you will enjoy the columns and learn something from them. I encourage everyone to start engaging on these important issues – constructively of course. You will find these columns on all my social media pages every Thursday; my FB, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram (IG) handles are all the same @MirandaLusiba.
