Q What kind of work do you do?

A I am a day care and aftercare teacher.

Q: What do you enjoy about your work?

A: I love working with children. It is my passion. Children are a blessing from God.

Q: What is the best advice you would give to parents on raising their children?

A: Boost your child’s self esteem. Set limits and be consistent with your discipline. Be a good role model and make communication a priority.

Q: As an avid runner, what is the longest distance that you have covered and how was the experience?

A: My longest distance was 21km and it was the best experience. It was both the Two Oceans and

Buffs it was my first time. I was running in the rain from start to finish. My worst experience was when I did a trail run in November 2021 called the Gonubie Challenge which was 15km.

Q: What are the top three things that you do to prevent injury?

A: I warm up before running, I cool down after and drink lots water during the run and afterwards. Runners must not push too hard beyond their current level of fitness.

Q: How do you stay motivated when you don’t want to run?

A: I read a book

Q: What advice would you give to first-time runners?

Q: What advice would you give to your younger self?

A: Invest in friendship. Solve problems. Know when to leave and learn to forgive

Q: Where do you think the root of gender-based violence comes from?

A: It can affect people in different ways. Discriminatory laws. Social norms that undermine women and girls. Both women and men experience gender-based violence.

Q: What do you love about Komani?

A: Komani is a very safe place. I love the mountain walking and it's a beautiful, small, friendly town.
