Gaylard’s kits out Seven Stars team

- ZINTLE BOBELO

The spirit of giving continues to spread as this week marks the end of Mandela Month.

Local football team Seven Stars, who after 23 years of competition were promoted to the ABC Motsepe league in 2021, received a generous donation of training kit from Gaylard’s Agencies recently, printed by Sign & Copy.

Coach Yongama Willie Kepkey and chair Jan Draghoender welcomed the donation, which was handed over by Gaylard’s Agencies owner Judy Conroy and store sales manager Richman Sam.

Draghoender said the players needed training kit to look more professional on the field.

“I am happy because we are playing in the provincial ABC Motsepe league and we must be presentable when we go to all these games.”

Supporting an array of community upliftment programmes, Conroy said the business was familiar with giving back to the community, within means.

She said sport created teambuilding and brought the community together.

“We were looking for a club that just needed some assistance with developing young, up-and-coming soccer players.

“It is important for them to do sport. We are always willing to help and uplift the community.”
