Renovations at home for elderly go on

Efforts to revamp Huis John Vorster continue and residents at the home were thrilled to see the “new” rooms this week.

The Rep had previously reported that Weshof and Westbourne community members had rallied for local business to donate towards giving the facility a facelift.

A makeover for a single room costs about R600. Three drops of curtains are needed for the windows, and comforters for the two beds cost R300.

It would be wonderful if anyone would like to sponsor items to revamp one room. The group working on the makeovers have managed to do three rooms so far, with 16 still to go.

However, if your budget is smaller but you would still like to help, toiletries are also needed and Elaine Stasson can be contacted on 082-453-6323 for any donations. A list of needs for three elderly people were posted on social media and everything has been generously met. Gratitude goes out to the kind-hearted people who willingly came to the party and assisted. The people of Komani really do care.
