Missionaries hit streets of Komani
It is not often that one meets people in this day and age who seriously live by faith.
Three young Christian women who visited Komani recently are doing exactly that.
They are not paid a monthly salary or even a small stipend.
They rely totally on God to nudge generous, kind people to contribute towards their needs as they travel the country spreading the Gospel.
Maria Marais, Juanita Marais and Madrid Nieuwoudt have all sorts of amazing stories of how God has “come through for them at the 11th hour”, time and time again.
They began their mission after two years of training at the Glenvar Bible College in Constantia in Cape Town.
They said they were on a mission to bring the Gospel to people, telling them of the “Good News of Jesus Christ”, talking about their faith and reaching out to whoever listened.
They are members of a missionary organisation, The African Evangelistic Band (AEB), based in Gqeberha.
There are some 40 young people working full time for AEB throughout SA.
Some are married with families and others single.
The three women spent the past week in Komani visiting schools, two old age homes, sharing morning devotions at local businesses, and attending the Baptist youth meeting on Friday nights.
They also enjoyed doing some street ministry and inviting young people to attend the Baptist Youth meeting.
Juanita, who has been involved with the missionary organisation the longest, said they were also making plans with various schools to return in May next year.
She said there was a sense of excitement among the youth they had met with. They also put on puppet shows for children.
