Madeira Home resident celebrates 50th in style

- LEN’S NEWS

A group of 20-plus friends and family gathered in the lounge at Madeira Home on Friday afternoon to celebrate with Francis Jacobs at her 50th Birthday tea party.

Friends from outside Madeira Home prepared the catering and there was a wonderful spread of lovely eats.

The cake, organised by a friend, Kirsten Watt-Pringle, was out of this world.

Although photos were taken towards the end of the party, there was a lovely group of people who all joined in the fun.

Jacobs said she had never had so many people attend any of her birthdays before. When asked how she was settling in at the home for the elderly, she responded by admitting that it had taken time. However, she was feeling a lot happier about the move and glad that she was now a resident at the home.

Jacobs’ son Ivan has given her a trip to Cape Town to stay with him as his birthday gift to her.

While exploring the scenic mother city, she is visiting her brother, Derik, and her sister Pat Stafford, and family for 10 days, before returning home.
