More than 575 students from Southern Africa recently graduated from a theological course presented by Shincheonji Church of Jesus.

They were part of 106,186 students from 82 countries around the world who also completed the Bible course successfully.

The main ceremony took place on Sunday, November 20, in South Korea.

This was the largest number of students ever to complete this theological course and the biggest graduation ceremony of its kind in the world.

For safety reasons and in line with Covid-19 protocols, only 80,000 graduates could attend in person at the Daegu Stadium.

The ceremony was streamed to hundreds of locations via YouTube in nine different languages, in which more than 300,000 people were able to participate.

Students from 23 African countries also participated in this large-scale graduation ceremony, with 506 from SA, 55 from Namibia, and 14 from Zimbabwe.

It was also indicated that there were previous graduates who hailed from the Chris Hani region.

Local ceremonies were held in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Gqeberha, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Windhoek and Harare.

It was a day of celebration and unity for thousands of students from different cultures, races, languages and backgrounds.

They graduated after having completed the nine-month course.

The graduation ceremony consisted of praise and worship, congratulatory speeches, prayers, and an address by the chair of Shincheonji, Man-Hee Lee, followed by a special performance, tassel turning and an award ceremony.
