The local ABC Motsepe League side Seven Stars Football Club (FC) welcomed Matta Milan FC from Dutywa at Dumpy Adams Stadium as part of its preseason preparation on Saturday.

Spectators flocked to the stadium as the teams played two games on the day.

Their first encounter kicked off at 11am, where Matta Milan showed Seven Stars that they did not come to Komani to play games as they beat the Komani side 1-0.

Their second game started at 3pm at the same venue.

Matta Milan had the advantage of the wind during the first half as it tested the tactical ability of Seven Stars to control the ball.

Their swift control of the ball resulted in both teams going to half time without finding the back of the net.

On the first whistle of the second half, it was evident that both teams were determined to search for goals.

Matta Milan won the second game by a single goal that was scored in the second half.

Matta Milan coach Chippa Njidu said: “The two games that we played today gave us a glimpse of our team ahead of the start of the season.

“We noted that we need to work on our attacking strategies, as our front line was not strong today.”

He added that their wins were risky because their opponent could have easily equalised especially with the chances that Seven Stars had in the second match.

Seven Stars failed to score in both games and their coach, Willie Kepkey said: “It was a nice game, the boys stepped up and I am happy with the progress the team showed.”

He further explained that the confidence in his side was impressive and they would continue to prepare for the start of the new season.

Seven Stars FC and Matta Milan FC are both in stream B in the ABC Motsepe League.

Their encounters gave them and the spectators an idea of what can be expected when the season starts.
