166th Queen’s College reunion weekend celebrates pride and world-class achievement

-

Ato s we celebrate come together’ Queen s College’s 166th reunion, I would like, at the outset, to thank the broader community of our town and The Rep for all the support you give to our school.

Queen’s College is a worldclass school offering worldclass education to our pupils.

As such, it needs to be celebrated, nurtured and cherished by the community of Komani so that together, and in partnership, we can continue to grow.

I believe that we are succeeding in producing wellrounded young men ready to take on the world and make a meaningful contribution to society.

Old Queenians are incredibly loyal to and supportive of their old school.

It is for this reason that it is such a great pleasure to welcome them home for this reunion weekend. Queenians are, by nature, a generally adventurous bunch. Many tales shall be told and much camaraderie will be shared over the course of the weekend.

Countless Old Queenians have gone out into the world

and made their mark in a tremendously positive way.

Our current Queenians continue to do this. Now, as much as at any other time in our school’s illustrious history, it is vital that we continue to do this. Our reunion weekend provides a time-honoured link between the present and the past. While acknowledging all those that have gone before us, we are incredibly proud of the school we have become.

I consider myself privileged to be a small part of it.
