MISS INDIA SA COMPETES IN WORLD PAGEANT
BEST of luck to Joburg lass Shivani Govender, who leaves for Mumbai, India, at the end of month to represent South Africa in a prestigious pageant.
The 22-year-old Miss India South Africa will compete against young women from 47 other countries in the Miss India Worldwide pageant.
Govender works as a graduate business analyst for a bank, having obtained an honours degree in chemical engineering from Wits.
She also runs an Indian dance school in Alberton, called DesiMotion, models occasionally and says her hobbies are going to the gym and buying shoes, of which she has over 300 pairs.
During her reign, she has been kept busy on philanthropic and cultural projects. “Holding the title of Miss India South Africa is an honour and has given me opportunities to touch the lives and hearts of others,” she says.
She has given motivational talks, attended media launches for various events, modelled for fashion shows, performed at cultural events and fundraisers, and done charity work.
Govender says she has a party of 10 accompanying her to India.
“Representing South Africa is a privilege, but a huge responsibility. I am looking forward to boasting of all the amazing attributes of our diverse and colourful culture.” – Lifestyle Reporter
