THE MONTH of March comes with changes to the line-up of local digital radio station Touch HD. Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe will be stepping down as a regular host.

Taking over the afternoon drive-time slot will be fresh and vibrant Ntando Duma

The man behind the infamous sound of the three horns had become famously associated with the Touch Down HD’s signature afternoon drive show.

Molefe said in a statement: “When we launched Touch HD, we wanted to create a rich listening experience, with the best on-air talent, shows and content. We’re always refining our business strategy to ensure that we deliver quality.”

“This requires me to be more hands-on when it comes to the business of Touch HD, hence my decision to step down as the host of the show,” said Tbo Touch.

Touch HD spokesperson Lulu Mthimkhulu said: “We’re incredibly excited about the new changes and additions to the station, which will be in effect on March 1. “Tbo Touch will still feature on the station but only to host the afternoon drive on Mondays. The rest of the Touch Down week will be handled by Duma, Dish and DJ Capital,” said Mthimkhulu. Duma said she was both thrilled and nervous about taking the reins but she was looking forward to making a “kick-ass radio show. “It’s the first time where I will be co-hosting with people. This time around it’s obviously a very big slot, it’s a drive-time show and I’m working with such an amazing pair, DJ Capital and Thami,” said Duma. “People can expect a lot of craziness from my side. Can I tell you the truth, I thought to myself, I actually don’t see this working… all three of us in the same room. But when I got to sit down and have a conversation with them, I realised we could crack a bomb-ass radio show,” said the 22-year-old. According to the Touch HD management, the changes to the line-up come with the addition of legendary gospel singer Rebecca Malope and the exit of radio personality Glen Lewis.
